My Project

I teach in a school that most students come from low income families of color who don't necessarily have the time or the resources to read. Meanwhile, I teach Math and I love it. However, my students especially those who struggle in Math don't appreciate it as much as I do and don't love it. I always tell them "the more you love Math, the more it will love you back." So, I am constantly trying to find ways to make connections between Math and real life. By reading these books as a whole class, I am hoping that my students can see the beauty and value of Math in day to day life.

Math is beautiful, it makes sense, and it's practical in everyday life and I want my students to see this, feel it, and believe in it.

I want them to read books that have a central story line about Math, Science, and Technology and see how it all connects to each other and make sense.

The books in this project have the ability to shed light on the beauty, joy, and value of Math in real everyday life and my students will get immense value in reading, comprehension, and other literacy skills while they can also feel the
