My Project

Using The Psychology of Wealth will allow me to engage the students with real-world examples of how the themes in The Great Gatsby impact their lives at a personal and cultural level. This book will allow me to extend the unit about The American Dream into a full trimester, and give the students ample amounts of examples they can connect to their fiction reading during the trimester.

The goal of the unit is to understand how the American Dream is being fulfilled, failed, attacked, and supported in America.

This book will give my students a special chance to connect Fitzgerald's fictional world to the world of finance and to see how the ideals Fitzgerald puts forth actually play out in the day-to-day workings of American finance.
