Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Despite the hardships, our school is still "Achieving Excellence Together" albeit from a distance. Our students are missing their art room, their safe space for creativity and freedom. Our community has been deeply affected by this pandemic. The majority of our families are in the service industry and a vast majority of our families are now facing extreme financial hardships.

One child, one teacher, one iPad, one video can motivate a community.

The art room albeit a virtual art room provides are students with a sense of comfort, creativity and an outlet for self expression. I hope to create STEAM art tutorials and videos to connect with the students and help inspire them to stay creative and positive during these trying times.

My Project

The iPad will enable me to record and edit high quality STEAM art lessons for my students to view and engage in. It would also enable me to host live guided art lessons were I can connect with my students on a more personal level.

Although we are far apart, we will "Achieve Excellence Together" in our virtual art room with the assistance of an iPad, Microsoft Teams and YouTube.

We are all experiencing a new normal with a lot of change and challenges, but the greatest challenge we will overcome and master is that learning and creativity will prevail.
