My Project

My students are a diverse group of 22 learners that speak many different languages including Spanish, Bengali, Hindi, Arabic and English. One language that we all have in common is the language of numbers and math. This gives students a great opportunity to access collaborative learning through math. When students are given the opportunity to work together with these tools, they develop teamwork and communication skills, which are essential both in and out of the classroom.

Furthermore, these manipulatives will help my students connect math to real-world applications.

By using physical objects to represent mathematical ideas, students can see the relevance of math in their everyday lives, which enhances their engagement and interest. Math games also assist in transforming traditional learning into an enjoyable experience. They incorporate play which makes my students are more likely to engage with the material, fostering a positive attitude toward math.

I created this project because I know my student will benefit greatly from these math tools and games. My hope is to be able to watch them succeed with these resources in math and communication skills.
