This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love introducing new lifetime activities to my students. Many children may be familiar with throwing a Frisbee but most will be new to these popular yet competitive Frisbee games. Kan Jam is a fantastic game that can also be played at home or the park! Disc Golf combines two sports, Frisbee and Golf.

Who doesn't love games where there are so many fun benefits?

The benefits to Kan Jam and Disc Golf are plentiful. The students will be able to understand how to play the games if they see it at the park or even at a BBQ. Kan Jam focuses on the skill of accurately throwing a Frisbee. This will be a great progression to the end of our unit, playing Ultimate Frisbee. Disc Golf on the other hand includes skills for lifetime activities like Golf and Ultimate Frisbee. My goal is to introduce another outdoor activity to encourage the students to increase their outside physical activity.

I look forward to seeing my students thrive in the Frisbee World!
