Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Due to the joy of being able to parent 3 lovely girls I previously left my teaching career. Now I pursue another chapter in my life of going back to revive my teaching career.

I have been given a great teaching opportunity for a Kindergarten class in a neighborhood that most children are either in shelters or underprivileged.

The classroom I have been given doesn't have many center materials or equipment needed to enhance the students' learning and their ability to learn to read and write. My plans are to transform each center into a fun area, but also a place that enhances the objectives I'm trying to achieve in the class.

My Project

These materials will allow me to create a functional classroom. The Literacy Center Management Chart will allow for organization and an easy way for the students to know where they are located without disturbing my small group. The Listening and Learn Phonemic Awareness Program will be used for one of my centers. This program will help students help the students achieve the first pillar of reading. Many of my student still don't know their letters or their sounds. This program will help those students who need help. The teacher chart stand will help to organize my circle time and mini lessons. The stand will be able to hold the anchor charts while at the same time hold and organize my teaching tools. As you can see, these chosen items will allow for my Kindergarten children to work independently in strengthening areas such as letter recognition and phonics sounds. These activities will allow the children to learn, but have fun.

In conclusion this project will bring phonemic awareness to each child in a fun but educational way.

The impact of these materials will be filled with unforgettable memories that will be carried with them into their next grade and beyond.
