My Project

Our world needs excellent journalists...and Community High journalists are ready for the challenge to engage in audio, video and photo journalism in order to tell powerful, multimedia stories that will impact our readers.

Journalists at Community High work to tell important stories not just for our school community but for our local community.

Our journalists tell stories that help people understand complex issues through individual stories. They are committed to helping us build a more compassionate school, community and world. They do this one story at a time.

My students often say that they are shining a light on an individual's story...and they are. Their stories build compassion, empathy, and understanding — all of which are desperately needed in our world right now.

We are self-funded, and we need your help to improve our equipment and expand what we can do this coming school year.

The mirrorless cameras will improve our ability to shoot events and create videos. The podcasting kit will allow student journalists to create and record the podcasts as well as voice recordings to accompany their articles. The mics will allow us to have stronger audio, which we can use in podcasts and in our articles. The tablet will allow our artists to thrive as they create compelling visuals for our publications.
