My Students

The theme is learning...and learning will be the theme for my upcoming Kindergarten class!

I teach in a fast growing area of South Carolina.

My K-5 school is located beside one of our local high schools and is surrounded by the neighborhoods of children that attend. After six years of teaching 1st grade, I will be making a move to teach an eager group of 26 Kindergarten students next year and am in great need of some thematic support!

My Project

I have requested support and funding for this project that includes three theme boxes. Each theme box contains books and manipulatives used to engage the children in the topic. One theme box is centered around "families"...a very important concept for kindergarteners to explore. As are the other two: "life cycles" and "numbers and counting". Having these boxes would mean that I would have the materials I so desperately need to engage my new kindergarten students in these important concepts.

By funding this crucial project, you will be making a difference in the learning driven lives I hope to start these kindergarteners off with.

For many, this will be their first form of formal education in a public school setting. Please help me provide them with the best education possible, and all the materials I need to do so!
