Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Alison Anderson ( GettingSmart.com) once said: "I believe a tablet that allows for customization can help students read and comprehend content at new levels that were not accessible to them previously". I believe the same. The software that I will use allows for this personalized learning.

More than 90% of my students come from low income families.

However, they are always eager to learn and ready to follow instructions. They are respectful with their own classmates and with adults. Most of the students in our school are Hispanic and some of them have just arrived from Mexico or other Spanish speaking countries.

My Project

My students will use the tablets iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3, and the Samsung Galaxy tab 4 for learning mainly reading, mathematics and English. They will use software such as IStation, Dreambox, and MyOn. The software is required by our school district and it will make it easier for my students to reach our goals. The iPad mini case will be used to protect the iPad mini 2.

The purpose of the tablets is to improve the reading and comprehension of my students and to master other challenging math and reading concepts.

I firmly believe that by the end of the year all my students will be at or above grade level with no one left behind. In addition, I will also use the iPad mini 3 to prepare lesson plans, analyze data, provide reports, and communicate with parents.
