Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a music teacher that would like to unite Technology with the Arts. My school is a STEAM school where we combine Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. We already use technology in our everyday lives and I would like to bring it to the forefront my elementary classroom. The sound equipment we use will be used in events that are open to our community. Throughout the year we have patriotic events, we honor our veterans, we celebrate multicultural holidays, we emphasize inclusion of special needs, we love ourselves and we love our country.

"The world is in constant change; thus, though a critical STEAM education, students can learn how to adapt to new and different situations.

We are preparing students for jobs and environments that might not exist right now."

The students of this next generation are very comfortable with technology and would thrive in a tech based classroom. Some of these items we have owned in the past, but they have become worn over the years. Even when you take really good care of any cable, eventually it needs to be replaced. The thin wires inside the cables become bent and break off. We also need new microphones. We think rehearsing with the use of microphones encourages confidence in public speaking skills that can be used even in their adult lives and the community around them. We need microphones and stands where students of all ages can rehearse how to hold and manipulate them. The students have keyboard pianos they can use in their music classes but the stickers that identify the keys have lost their adhesion over the years. We also need the power cables and extensions for these keyboards. Thank you for keeping us in mind.
