My Students

We love reading! So much so that we keep asking for books--new series, new sequels, new titles we've read about.

Our eighth graders are voracious readers with one request--more!

That's why it's especially important to have more books at lower reading levels that interest older students as well as books that challenge those who need it. And trust me-- they're not afraid to be vocal about what they want!

My Project

My students need books of various levels. Most of the books on this list have been requested by students. They've heard about them from friends or seen them online or while browsing the shelves at a local bookstore. With these books, students will have more options when choosing independent reading books and be able to read the specific books they want. They'll then recommend the books to their classmates and other students will read them.

This donation will improve my classroom by giving the students more options when using independent reading books to build upon the skills and strategies they have learned as readers.

By adding books requested by students to the library, we give students the option of reading texts that have definitely been approved, and often talked about, by their peers.
