Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This project will support a 2nd grade class of 100% remote learners. Our class consists of an extraordinary group of 2nd graders from the Bronx. The virtual learning community is diverse and comprised of families from many different cultures and countries. Our students all have various learning needs, however visual and audio modalities greatly assist with understanding.

Again, students find themselves continuing to battle the challenges and related emotions of remote learning due to Coronavirus.

Our students deserve the same resources and quality instruction as they would receive in the classroom. We want our kiddos to be successful in the virtual learning world and show progress as a result. We need your help.

My Project

Our remote learners are thirsty for high interest books and engaging/interactive learning opportunities. They want to understand and read more about what's going in in the world around them....TODAY! How do these remote students gain access to materials, resources and quality instruction that they would have in the typical classroom? We need digital resources, engaging read-alouds and manipulatives such as magnetic number bonds, ten frames, base-ten blocks and fraction models, to model LIVE lessons. These materials will help our remote learning community be successful with VIRTUAL learning, MATH, literacy and engagement.

These teacher read-alouds and lessons will support the children's SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING and now more than ever, students will need guidance, support and grace to continue to navigate remote learning in the absence of the physical classroom.

The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will provide students with FUN independent practice and educational games. Last term, students enjoyed the ability to interact with digital resources in reading, writing, math, science and social studies. A gift card from TPT will allow me to purchase more interactive and engaging products for our kiddos to practice the skills being taught in the virtual classroom.
