The Jaguars and Llamas are some of the most respectful and joyful bunch of students I've met! These students cheer each other on and lift my spirits daily. The llamas and jaguars will be participating in an event hosted by Hella Artsy and are seeking assistance in order to present “STEAM Fest" in an accessible way to all youth and students. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math)
STEAM Fest focuses on breaking the socioeconomic impact which creates a lack of resources around arts and education in communities like my students'.
We want to give the jaguars, llamas, and the community the opportunity to explore STEAM Education. We are confident that our potential partnership will assist with giving our future scientists, educators, and creators a lifelong interest and love of STEAM.
Your donation will bring in loads of immersive and hands-on experiences for students. With the STEAM field gained a lot of uproar that our school is now LSA. Throughout the year, students can engage in content-rich instruction from teachers, but that work is only the surface of the hands-on engagement and excitement that it can bring. A typical school day is filled with so many other requirements that STEAM curriculum can only be accessed twice a month. By donating to this event you are helping to provide students with an entire day filled with STEAM stations and explorations that will be manned by experienced adults and other leaders in the field. These materials will help bridge the instruction and experiences together! Your donation items will help provide students with the following immersive experiences:
Students will embark on a community-centered exploration for all ages and interests in all of the STEAM categories.
-Astrology and Planet model making.
-Math games and explorations for all ages with the use of manipulatives and other formats like board games.
-Earth Science: Global Warming, thinking like a scientist
-Earth Science: Earth Formations, Volcanoes, and testing hypothesis.
-Earth Science: Creating Resilient Gardens (Terrarium)
-Arts: Beginners painting classes and theory, ceramic/pottery for all ages with different modalities like play-doh or ceramic. Mosaic art.
-Physical Science: Fun with magnets, light your own light bulb.
The goal of your donation is to create experiences that go beyond the classroom, into their homes, and their daily lives. We hope to ignite a curiosity and confidence in STEAM education and careers for a lifetime in order to help change the trajectory of black, brown, and minority and marginalized students.
