Help me give my students the gift of music. The drum heads will allow my musicians the opportunity to continue sharing their passion for music with their school and community. They are self-motivated and talented.

My Project

Being in a rural area has its pros and cons. It’s the same for smaller schools. One thing that is true is that everyone loves to hear the school band perform. The band is often the heart of the school, whether it’s marching or concert band, students and parents love the sound of music.

My school has been without a band teacher for the last three years; However, this has not stopped my students from trying to keep our band active.

With hard work and determination, they have been able to keep the drumline intact. It has not been easy because we cannot get a committed band teacher to join our staff. Instead of letting this be an obstacle, my faithful drummers and cymbals continue to self-teach and motivate each other.

Several of our drumheads have been damaged, and my students have done their best to patch them up. I am acting as a facilitator so they can continue to practice and self-teach. Any support will help them grow and keep music alive at our school.
