My Project

Our school rests in a Title 1 district, meaning that our schools have a fairy high rate of low income families. We as teachers try our best to provide as much as we can to our students in order to help them thrive in and out of the classroom.

Food and water are a part of every humans basic needs in life.

It's safe to say we as humans could not thrive without these basic needs, so why would it be any different when it comes to growing our minds in education? If we follow Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs we notice that the base of this pyramid consists of physiological needs, which includes food, water, warmth and rest. In order to move on to the next layers of the pyramid in the most successful way, one should fulfill the base needs first.

By having these varieties of snacks and treats, my students are given a better opportunity to truly grow not only in their deficiency needs, but also their growth needs. I have picked out the snacks and treats that keep my students motivated to be successful in their studies, while also helping to fulfill those basic needs.
