We are working to create a food pantry in their high school for students who are in need of assistance. The food will be distributed confidentially to students and families from a high school pantry.
Participation from the entire high school community will raise awareness and activism for social issues that are challenging and directly connected to Neshaminy students.
Neshaminy students are always positively motivated to help those in need and they work hard to make a difference. The project is expected to operate year-round by students.
My Project
The shelving and plastic bins will allow the students to store food staples to maximum capacity in the school pantry, also known as the "Silo." The bins will protect food so that it is safe to eat. These materials are essential for the operation of this social entrepreneurship project.
There is also a project objective to store enough food to help students and their families through the summer months.
By providing easy access to food, students can advocate for themselves and their families in a confidential way during the school day.
The project-based learning experience will also increase student engagement while demonstrating that an entrepreneurial mindset can positively influence social needs through activism.
