Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students I teach are from low-income families. The majority are from Spanish speaking families & struggle with academics.

The Disney Musicals in Schools program allows these children to feel proud.

It gives them a chance to show that they aren’t differently-abled but differently capable!

These students are resilient and loving and deserve it all. To hear them sing the songs as they walk home is the sweetest sound.

This project will allow my school to build our Performing Arts department.

My Project

Our small school had begun a Performing Arts department. To watch the excitement on the faces of the children as they participate in creating theater has no words. My students often struggle academically so providing a creative outlet has allowed them to shine in so many different ways. These materials will allow them to create costumes, scenery pieces, programs, and posters.

The world of theater allows them to be creative as actors, dancers, singers, designers and crew members.

It has taught them compassion and teamwork in a society that needs it even more. This material will bring the world of theater alive!

School budgets are always stretched thin and often the Arts are often at the bottom. Make us on the TOP!
