My Project

My 4th graders are natural explorers, brimming with curiosity and a love for hands-on learning. They're a diverse, enthusiastic group who thrive when they can discover the world around them.

This owl pellet dissection project will ignite their scientific curiosity.

The owl pellets themselves provide a tangible link to the food chain, allowing them to uncover real skeletal remains. Dissection tools and magnifying glasses will enable close observation, fostering attention to detail. Bone identification charts will teach them anatomical terminology and critical thinking as they analyze their findings. Disposable trays and gloves ensure a safe, hygienic learning environment.

My goals are to provide a memorable, engaging science experience that sparks a lifelong interest in biology. I want to develop their critical thinking and observation skills, enhance their understanding of ecosystems, and foster a deeper appreciation for nature. Ultimately, I want to empower them to act as scientists, conducting investigations and drawing conclusions based on evidence. Your support will make this incredible learning experience possible.
