My Students

I love the question "what makes your students special" knowing that "everything" is not the best answer, but it is most certainly true. My students are eager to learn and want to do their best daily. Their confidence is contagious, and they make teaching the best job around.

I teach at a Title I school with diverse students from all walks of life.

Many of the students receive free/reduced-price lunch and also receive "backpack buddies" which provides them with food and snacks for the weekend. Despite the challenges they may face, my students come to school ready to do their very best.

My Project

The materials in this project will help bring phonics lessons to life! Using the portable Secret Stories reference will allow students to have a visual reminder to apply skills to their independent reading. The other materials will be used to make the Secret Stories part FUN!

Students will use the materials in this project to learn and apply deeper thinking to phonics lessons and independent reading.

There are many teacher made resources to support Secret Stories and further the learning experience, which will be purchased through Teachers Pay Teachers. Secret Stories materials and resources will have a huge impact on students learning and success.
