Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year I am stepping into a role as an instructional coach for Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Grade teachers! In a building as large as ours (almost 1,200 students), I will be working closely with all of the teachers who have a direct impact on so many students' lives and education. What makes this so special? I get to reach 23 classrooms of students, not just one! Through coaching I will be servicing students in both whole group and small group instruction, and really get to help our school's teachers ENHANCE their classroom practices! Better teachers = stronger students!

My Project

These supplies will ready the office that teachers will be able to come to for workshops, meetings, and during their preparation periods and lunches to create supplies and materials for their classrooms. Through creating an organized work space, teachers will have the opportunity to put words into practice and create "make and takes" to bring back to their classrooms and use right away with their students! These supplies will support ongoing professional development activities centered around student learning. During these meetings, teachers will have the opportunity to read research-based practices, and then use these supplies to create them! For example, teachers can create centers, differentiated materials, and anchor charts!

One of the goals for this coming year is to strengthen the work the teachers do in their Professional Learning Communities (PLC's).

In creating a space with a plethora of resources, teachers will be able to readily collaborate! Once this room is open, teachers sharing ideas, creating partnerships, and diving into professional resources will only enhance student learning!
