This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

It is truly a seating scandal that my students have sat in a plain desk their whole educational career. At 10 years old, all they know is an old desk attached to a chair. When I give them the option to sit on the floor or at a table, they are significantly more focused. I believe this is because they had a choice and because they are able to meet their body's needs.

I refuse to let this seating scandal continue because my students deserve seating options that meet their needs and drive their learning.

My students are inspirational when given the freedom to own their learning. I believe they will be more driven to own their learning with the ability to own their seating option.

These flexible seating options will give my students the independence they need to meet their needs. Not only will they be able to move their body how they need, they will learn to be responsible for their body and their learning.
