This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

All students learn to read in Kindergarten. Part of effective teaching is providing the practice kids need to absorb the learning I give them in whole group setting. Placing students in small groups is where I differentiate. Having all these Science based Reading materials would be any students dream.

The 8 Science of Reading Phonics Kit takes no prep time and will give me more time to teach in small groups.

The Science of Reading Phonics books will give my students the hands on they need AND GIVE THEM INTERESTING TOPICS TO READ LIKE NON FICTION TEXT. Working in an independent learning station with other students in a small group setting is best teacher practices help me give my students interesting books to keep them engaged.Having Science based manipulatives like the magnetic letters will help kids build and read cvc words, letter blends and digraphs. All of which are the Reading foundational skills that they need to learn in order to become a reader.
