My Project

The best thing about our students is they strive to make a long-lasting, positive impact on their school. They inspire others to work alongside them to ensure their goals can be met/reached. They develop innovative ideas designed to transform their school into a better place for current and future students. These young men and women have proven themselves to be unstoppable leaders and the future looks bright under their direction. Recently, they were responsible for the creation of a Zen space/sensory room, an after-school cooking club, and the creation of a school podcast to discuss Native American culture. They have made a mark this year and are still looking for ways to transform/apply the knowledge they have gained at our school.

This desire, to turn learned knowledge into real-world hands-on experience has facilitated the creation of this project.

These materials will be used to create a school café and a spirit store. This project would provide students with the means to develop/implement important life skills: customer service, money management, and supply and demand. Students will create food items they can sell throughout the day and design merchandise to sell.

Our school café will display foods, a coffee bar serving beverages, and café style seating so our students can enjoy their purchases. Our students will understand the importance of scheduling as they will be working inside the store/café. They will learn money management, writing receipts, balancing books, price setting, and supply and demand. With these resources, we will work alongside students to assist with setting up a means for online sales and fulfilling those orders. They will develop an understanding of marketing your product and creating content the consumer is interested in, all important skills that will help them transition into adulthood and continue becoming successful young men and women.
