Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Rain or shine, my students come to school, ready for the various learning activities and tasks that await their day.

My second grade students are part of an ICT, or Integrated Co-Teaching, class, which is part of the NYC public school system.

They live in a high poverty, multicultural community. Our class consists of two teachers - one general education teacher and one special education teacher, and a wonderful group of eager, 2nd grade learners.

My Project

I've requested a listening center, and leveled read along books and CDs to help my students build up their reading fluency. Guided Reading book sets are needed to help support our English Language Learners that are struggling to meet grade level reading standards. School-to-Home reading activities were also requested to help support and foster parental involvement with literacy homework.
