Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My student’s amaze me everyday. Many of my students love coming to school because they feel safe and loved. So many of them have huge dreams of becoming aerospace engineers and veterinarians. While others come to school to just to get away from the stresses of their home lives. Our school is a second home to so many students that come from low income families.

I have an array of words to describe my students: eager, interesting, giggly, serious, hyper, subdued, curious, caring, and so much more.

Many of them ask me everyday “Did you miss me.” I absolutely love greeting them every morning. They are so eager to learn about the world, and make discoveries.

Small group time seems to be their biggest interest. So many of my students beg to come to my small group to be near their teacher. They enjoy the smaller environment in which I can give them more of my attention.

My Project

Currently my big 6th graders have to gather around a very small round table meant for two. I can only see about two or three students at a time during small group, which means less students that need the help miss out. If I try to see four or more then I end up standing away from them which ruins the learning atmosphere needed for small group instruction. The closer they sit together the more room for distractions.

Your donations will help me create the best learning environment possible for my current students and future students.

With this dry erase kidney table I will be able to conduct small group instruction more effectively, while also giving my students enough space to work. I would be able to see more at least six students at a time which means more students get The specialized attention and instruction they need.
