My Project

I am requesting drumsticks, amps, and sound equipment to build a comprehensive modern band program for my students in the Bronx. These items are critical to providing a complete, hands-on music education experience. Drumsticks are essential for rhythm practice and coordination, amps ensure that all instruments can be heard during performances and rehearsals, and sound equipment will allow students to explore audio engineering and live sound setup—valuable skills in today’s music industry. Without access to these tools, students will miss out on key components of a well-rounded music education, limiting their ability to fully engage and grow as musicians.

The goal of this project is to create a modern band program that reflects the diverse musical tastes and talents of my students.

By providing the right equipment, I want to give them the opportunity to play, collaborate, and perform like professional musicians. My aim is not only to teach them technical skills but also to develop their creativity, teamwork, and confidence. Music can be a transformative experience, and this program will foster a sense of belonging and pride, especially in an underfunded school setting where access to quality arts education is limited.

My students are special because they come from a vibrant and diverse community in the Bronx, and their passion for music is undeniable. Despite the challenges they face, including the lack of resources due to underfunding, they are eager to learn and express themselves through music. Many of them have never had the chance to access proper instruments and equipment before. Your support in providing these tools will give them the opportunity to explore their potential, find their voice, and build important life skills through the power of music.
