Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Growing my students' love of reading is my number one goal this year. In order to do so, I want to provide my class with all sorts of resources that will allow my kids to open up to the idea of reading independently for pleasure. Creating an inviting reading nook will allow my students to explore new ways to be comfortable, not only physically but also mentally, with literacy.

Bean bag chairs and rugs will be used for students who may not be able to focus on the typical desk and chair; allowing them to connect to books on their own comfort level and pace.

I hope to plant the seed of literature within them and help them nurture that skill this year.
