My Project

I have a fantastic group of 8th graders who are ready to dive into a compelling novel study. Unfortunately, resources are limited and students do not have the means to purchase books on their own. They are a group that needs an engaging story, but also one that has themes to prompt discussion about society and the human experience. The Hunger Games series has everything to keep their attention, and also provide some great content for class discussions.

For students who struggle with connecting to a story, this might be exactly what they need to fall in love with reading.

By studying the entire series, we will have a unique opportunity to discuss the full arch of the plot and character development. I am looking forward to exploring blackout poetry using copies from the pages of these books!
