This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help, my students need better headphones! Each year, I would buy headphones in bulk but really what I am able to afford. However, whatever I can afford, never seems to make it to the end of the year.

With the incorporation of technology into our everyday lessons, having a set of decent headphones is a necessity.

With these headphones, students can research on the web and watch videos that will support their learning without disturbing their nearby classmates. Many students find that listening to music, whether tranquil instrumentals, classical, pop, or hip-hop, is a way to help them focus on their independent assignments (this is especially true for my students with special needs). In addition, many of my students remain in my classroom during their lunch period, as their safe place away from the chaos of the cafeteria. They may have a free period but that is usually the time I have to prepare my lessons for the following day. Please give them sound (through the headphones), so I have the power to create lessons that will stimulate their minds.

With these headphones, I hope this will engage all my students in learning, help them focus, and stop their need to wander to other teachers to find a working pair of headphones.
