Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I believe DANCE teaches way more than just movement. It teaches students teamwork, self-efficacy and confidence, among many other life skills. For the past three years I have been building our dance program in our school. I strive to give my students the best classroom experience, one that is multi-cultural and full of diversity. I can truthfully say my classroom is an enchanting atmosphere full of hospitality and nurture . This is all thanks to my students. They make teaching such a rewarding experience.

My Project

Often, it is very hard to motivate high school students to move.

They sometimes need a little external motivation.

As a dance teacher, I have seen firsthand how playing the latest jams can actually motivate students. They will run faster or be willing to participate in a physical activity if their favorite song is playing. With your help we can bring music during outdoor instruction with the use of an Bluetooth speaker and motivate our students to MOVE! Physical Education is a valuable life skill. It holds the power to inspire students to care and be proactive against obesity. We believe if students are engaged in a motivating environment and have a great experience in physical education, they are more likely to reflect on their experience and transcend their skills into adulthood. Therefore, they become passionate about staying fit and healthy. Help us motivate our students !
