My Project

I have 11 English Spanish Other Languages (ESOL) students in my class. They speak little to no English. This means almost half of my students struggle to understand me and are often not engaged or learning, due to the language barrier. My school has the highest population of ESOL students in our district, and we are the hub, so most are bussed here from all over our city. I am requesting help to purchase two voice translators for my paraprofessional and I. These will allow us to have everything we say translated into our students’ home language, Spanish. The students will also be able to speak to us in their home language and we will be able to hear it in English. Often our students are not engaged due to the inability to communicate and understand us. We struggle to help them when they need something, because we cannot understand them. Please help us make communication easier in our classroom. These will work for many years and offer 144 different languages. Thank you for considering.
