My Students

Welcome to our classroom, located in urban South Los Angeles! My 4th grade students are energetic, engaging and curious scholars. One of the greatest challenges in such a setting is helping my learners remain consistently focused and engaged, especially during distance learning.

Despite being faced with immeasurable odds, my learners show up eager to face the challenges of every distance learning school day.

Our learning environment is one of safety, risk-taking and collaborative works.

My Project

Distance learning has been a challenge for parents, students and teachers alike. Having never considered the prospect of teaching from home, I've always been able to use my district-issued laptop to supplement my classroom instruction and things were fine. Fast forward to today, I am teaching totally from my laptop, which presents challenges that most teachers were unable to foresee; the processor speed in my laptop is not optimal for Zoom teaching and streaming video, the screen is small, so I cannot see all of my students at once, extreme logging during classes, etc.

To mitigate these issues, I am asking for assistance in obtaining a desktop computer with sufficient processor speed to reduce or eliminate lagging/streaming issues, and also have a screen large enough to see my entire class on one screen.
