Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students have been hard at work learning all about calming their feelings, they have come a long way since coming back from distance learning. They still need to continue to learn about managing their feelings I will use the "Learn ABout Your Feelings" set to help foster new social emotional learning strategies as they grow and experience new emotions.

A calming corner would serve as a social-emotional learning tool to help further their development and create a safe space for little learners to feel secure in a warm environment.

The TeePee will be the perfect safe space along with the arm chair to help create a calming corner to meet the needs of all my students. The sofa chair will be used during whole class lessons on Social Emotional Learning(SEL).

Our calming corner is going to be used as needed. It will serve as a way for students to help regulate their big emotions when they don't find the words to express themselves it will have hour glass timers to help students watch as they calm down. It will have sensory items to help calm little minds such as fidget tubes, a liquid bubble timer, and a breathing exercise poster.
