My Project

The Peace Pod will be a safe, supportive space where children can pause, reflect, and learn to manage their emotions. To make this space truly effective, certain materials are essential for helping students regulate their emotions and practice self-awareness.

Up-to-date technology will be invaluable for incorporating digital tools into emotional regulation.

It will provide students with interactive apps for mindfulness, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques, which will help them focus and self-soothe. The technology can also offer calming videos or sounds to create a peaceful environment.

Updated tech materials like stands, holders, and cases will ensure the technology is easily accessible and protected. These items will allow students to use the technology hands-free for guided meditation or deep breathing exercises, consistently integrating tech-based emotional growth activities.

Fidget toys are crucial for students who need to release excess energy or focus attention. These tools help children channel nervous energy, promoting calmness and focus. By offering a variety of textures and sensory experiences, we give students the tools to self-soothe when they feel anxious, overwhelmed, or distracted.

A selection of SEL books will teach important emotional intelligence concepts like empathy, self-regulation, and understanding emotions. Reading stories helps children connect with their feelings and learn how to manage them, sparking meaningful conversations about emotions and growth.

Finally, sensory items like soft fabrics, stress balls, and calming glitter jars provide tactile experiences that help students ground themselves when overwhelmed. These items are effective tools for calming down in moments of stress, helping students return to class ready to engage.

Together, these materials will transform the Peace Pod into a space where students can practice emotional regulation, fostering a more positive and supportive classroom environment.
