Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

With so many students struggling to read, I had the opportunity to attend a 40-hour training to learn how to implement the "OG" of literacy -- Orton-Gillingham!

With materials to support multimodal learning - trays, screens, sand, colored tiles - my students will soon begin to thrive with phonemic awareness and literacy skills.

These materials pair with the OG approach and target teaching prerequisite skills through a very specific and well-thought-out scope and sequence. I am so excited to begin teaching my students using my new set of 'tools' so that they can learn "red words," identify syllable patterns, recognize and retain each sound a grapheme makes, and so much more!
