Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are from diverse backgrounds and live in shelters in a low socio-economic community. My students have encountered trauma that most adults will never endure. Even though their advirsity, my students strive for learning, adventure and exploration every day. Therefore, I encourage my students to think freely and fearlessly. My lessons are tailored to my student's emotional and academic needs. I implement hands-on and inquiry-based learning lessons in all subjects areas. I strive to create a fun educational environment!

My Project

This professional development session will allow me to engage in courageous conversations about equity, poverty and racism with colleagues. Given the political climate, and the push for remote learning, educators must be prepared to create an all-inclusive classroom environment online and in the classroom.

This annual conference is led by multiple guest speakers, all of whom hold leadership positions within NYC and New York State.

All guest speakers strive for equity and academic excellence in the classrooms. I will learn ways in which I can include strategies, literature and teaching methods to support my students cultures and their diversity.
