Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Knowing math is very important !! Imagine going to a store and paying for your groceries with a $100 bill. You just stand there and wait for the change, but have no idea how much it should be, this is kind of like a first grader starting to use money. They are all excited about spending and paying.

I have a special class, consisting of students with disabilities who have been grouped together because of similar individual needs so that they can receive specially designed instruction.

In my class, the content, methodology, or delivery of instruction is adapted to ensure the student have access to the general curriculum and the opportunity to meet the educational standards that apply to all students.

My Project

These materials will be used to give students multiple means of representation of concepts, multiple means of expression for students to demonstrate what they have learned. These materials will be an aid to understanding and expand content experience to demonstrate the concept being taught. These materials of instruction and tangible items will be used to support the instruction and create positive outcomes for diverse learners. These materials are carefully selected to meet the needs of each individual child. These materials will be used on a daily basis to increase each activity that may bring advances in learning of the curriculum and that maybe difficult for the children. The volume hands on measurement, multiplication & division game, fraction activity, geometry & measurement, weight, capacity center games will reflect children's lives and guide them in their learning process. My students need hands on activities with many visuals to understand different concepts being taught in math.

Math is the one skill you need to master in your life.

You see, without math we just cannot live or survive. We need math in our everyday lives. Just doing the basic essentials is dependent on your ability to do math. It is next to impossible to live an independent life without basic math skills. Children begin to learn about money in the early elementary grades, and later grades can calculate percentages and fractions.
