Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are in a Kindergarten Dual Language Class. In this class they are building their foundation to become amazing bilingual and biliterate citizens in their community. The school I work at is a Title 1 campus, where students range from similar backgrounds of low income families, which leads to low parent involvement. I aspire to build a classroom community of well rounded learners. My students love using movement when we are learning new content and love the interaction amongst their peers and myself.

My Project

My students love hands on learning, and I strive to incorporate activities that provide this need for them. The easel will allow them to have more opportunities for all to have input in our daily messages.

The worst thing for a student is to sit and listen to a lecture or mini lesson without any movement.

The customizable whiteboards will allow me to incorporate more hands on and interactive activities. During our mini lessons where we usually sit on the carpet my students are able to do turn and talks, but the whiteboards will allow them to practice their writing and share with their peers. My students will benefit from this because I will be able to provide feedback and praise immediately on whatever they are working on.
