My Students

I teach Media Arts to special needs students in grades 3rd - 8th. Through Media Arts, I expose students to various media and digital tools. My lessons inspire learning, exploring and expressing interests and talents through Project Based Learning.

My students face many struggles, internal and external.

Some suffer with learning disabilities, emotional disturbed behavior or both. Several are at risk and have greater challenges outside of school. I want my instruction to provide a meaningful and enriching classroom experience that motivates and encourages them to be their best despite these obstacles.

My Project

The Media Lab is an engaging and interactive space that allows students to explore careers in Media. The Lab includes a recording studio, film and photography equipment for creating short film projects such as PSA, skits and music videos. To complete this Media learning experience it's imperative that I secure more laptops. At the moment students have to take turns using two laptops. With your donation all of my students can develop their coding, typing and digital skills. In the Media Arts Lab students use coding programs and software such as Code.org, Tynker and CodeSpark to create games, animations, music and digital graphics. Your donation will also support students with development of their literacy skills. Students will be able to access Google Suite programs such as Google Docs and Google Forms to write outlines, scripts, and to compose or record video reflections based on their learning experiences.

By donating to our project you will give our students the opportunity to explore and experience careers in Media Arts.
