This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
The students are provided a safe environment where females and males who identify as a female can develop a positive and healthy awareness of self. These are students who looks forward to participating in this mentor group once a week.
Students are provide refreshments such as popcorn, KIND Bars, water and more.
Students can also access School and Community resources through this group.
Students will model positive peer interaction and proper etiquette while engaging in various activities that support growth, learning and self-esteem.
Goals: To focus on areas of concentrations, included but not limited to providing an environment of support, safety and education awareness.
Mentoring & Peer Support
Awareness/Importance of Volunteerism & Teamwork to Develop Leadership skills (Individually and as a Group),
Employment Skills Resume Writing, Rules to Behave and Interact Correctly With Others in a Social Environment.
As students participate in these groups afterschool, I believe it will have a positive impact on their daily school performance.
