My Students

My students come from mostly low-income households and many do not have the pleasure of having technology in their homes. Having tablets in my class would allow students the opportunity to experience how to operate and navigate technology that they will need in the future.

My Project

Help my students improve their reading skills. This year I will be teaching students that have reading levels below grade equivalent. This means they will need extra help accessing different skills. By using the Magic Tree House series I will be able to implement kinesthetic learning. First I will allow the students to see the books. Then students will be able to follow along with the book. This will insure students are seeing and hearing the words in the book. Increasing their vocabulary and word recognition. After this my students will access Magic Tree House website and complete the missions along with the hands on activities. The Magic tree house series are a set of books that are historical fantasy and will allow my students to create connections to things they will learn about in Science and Social Studies as well.
