My Project

I have a wonderful class of diverse learners from diverse backgrounds. Fourteen out of nineteen of my students are English Language Learners. They learn best through experiences and the hands-on learning in areas. My students love to learn! They love Math! Any resources that I can provide for them will encourage this love of learning!

The math materials I am requesting will be used in learning areas in my classroom.

In these areas the students work independently or in pairs. The areas are used to practice what we have been learning in class. The button sorting center, the geometry light up board and the addition and subtraction solving math center will all be used to provide challenging and engaging experiences for all of my students. The student clipboards will also be used in the learning areas.

I have also asked for a magnetic, interactive chart to use during whole group instruction of addition and subtraction. This will help me show the whole class how to use ten-frames, number bonds and number lines! The students and I can write directly on the giant magnetic chart. This continued practice of their math skills will help my kindergarteners be successful in math and ready for first grade!
