Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students are very much in need of rugs. These rugs are learning rugs that inspire and reinforce learning. I chose the listed rugs because they connect my students to every skill that they are learning in my class. They provide a platform on which supports and provides visual representation of skills in a delightful manner.

The rug for the listening center has wonderful pictures and colors that grasps student attention while providing visual connection to letters, numbers, and other skills taught.

It has neatly sectioned areas for student seating as they learn how to sit and listen to stories while respecting each other's space. It also stimulates language and vocabulary with its vivid pictures.

The rug for the library helps scholars to make practical connections to letters in the words that they see in their books and eventually will read in the books in their library. It reinforces vocabulary and provides a warm and colorful environment which will encourage students to spend time in the library. These rugs will be key factors in reinforcing and establishing skills to the environment for my students- and that's the greatest magic of all!
