Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Sadly, our class carpet has been over loved and we are unable to use it this year. A new carpet is essential for our classroom because that's where most learning and collaboration happens. We meet on the carpet for lessons every day. Students love coming to the carpet with their clipboards and markers during whole group time. They also work in partnerships and small groups on the carpet daily during our independent reading time.

This carpet will allow my students to get up from their desks and learn in a nice, clean comfortable area.

The students will be so excited, comfortable, and most importantly ready to learn!

The second graders you will be supporting are super curious learners who are eager to work and learn in small groups and partnerships. It is important for our students to return to working collaboratively on activities and projects. Since COVID, I understand our students really require flexible seating options and the ability to choose where they are most comfortable learning. They also need more opportunities to move around. Flexible seating options let kids take charge of their own learning by choosing where and how they sit and listen, work, and learn!

This "MAGIC" carpet is a meeting area that will support all the benefits of flexible seating.
