Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Our school does not have a library, but we have an empty room. It is my goal to transform it into a literacy room for students to visit for small group learning, workshops for parents and students, storytime, guest speakers, reading, and writing activities.

We need a room where comfy seating access, culturally diverse books, and activities are available for students to discover the joy of reading in a comfortable literacy-based space.

The students deserve to have a space for small group intervention, storytime with guest speakers, diverse chapter books to read, comfy carpets to sit on, and tools to enhance growth and development in literacy through reading and writing activities.

Please help our students improve their reading scores, and love for reading by creating our literacy room.
