Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a student, did it bother you when your teacher would never recognize you doing the right thing but always had something to say if you messed up? Too much time in classrooms is focused on the negative and not the positive. We need a way to reward students!

We are a school in an impoverished area in New York.

Our students attend middle school and are from diverse backgrounds, with a large populations of English Language Learners and students with disabilities. But overall, our students are great kids who just want a chance to succeed and be recognized for all their hard work.

My Project

I am requesting an assortment of supplies for our school such as pens, pencils, and wristbands. These resources will allow us to offer positive, tangible rewards to our students. As well, these resources will provide students with the materials they need on a daily basis in school. These resources will make a child feel special, motivate them to continue to make the right choices and inspire others to follow the same path. The resources we have requested are attractive and create school supplies that could be used as awards and incentives such as animal pencil grips, bookmarks, pencils and animal erasers.

These donations would make a huge impact on our school, it's culture and our community.

You should see the students' faces when they are praised. They are surprised because they are so used to only hearing negative words. These resources can brighten a student's day and give them that self esteem boost that could make a lasting impact on their life.
