My Students

The constant challenge facing today's students is funding for quality materials. All too often California's schools do not receive the kind of access to equipment and consumable supplies that are necessary for a full classroom experience.

Unlike many surrounding communities,the students who attend our high school grow up in a quiet and safe environment where support for education is common place.

However, like all California communities, the students at our school often miss out on opportunities for real world training and education due to the lack of financial support from the state and district to supply schools with the basic supplies in courses like photography.

My Project

We are requesting a new studio lighting kit to replace the older and potentially dangerous equipment that our program has used for decades. Older equipment is sensitive to electrical needs and requires specific operation to be used safely. This new lighting set up is similar to the type used in professional studios and will be much safer for students to operate due to it's upgraded technology. The kit also includes professional backdrops and soft boxes which will give our students the opportunity to create professional looking portraits.

This equipment will bring our program more up to date with current technology in the workplace.

Having the opportunity to use this type of lighting system will better prepare our students for careers in photography.
