My Students

My students belong to a college-preparatory exam school in an urban district. They are high achievers. Many will be the first in their family to go on to college after they graduate from high school.

The students whom I teach are bright, dedicated, and curious.

They work hard to understand the material even though the resources which are available to them may be outdated. These students deserve the best and I can only give that to them with your help!

My Project

I need a laminator to make sturdy vocabulary cards, reusable bingo sheets, and speaking prompts. It's important for students to study the vocabulary in many different ways. One way to do it with the whole class is for myself or a student to stand at the front of the room and hold a vocabulary card. Students will see and say the form at the same time. Vocabulary cards could also be used in games like "Around the World" where a student competes with peers by answering a vocabulary question. Playing "Bingo" is also a great learning experience.

This laminator and the laminating pouches will ensure that students will have reliable access to sturdy visuals.

Additionally, the classroom is currently in need of tissues, hand sanitizer, and bandaids. Having bandaids at the ready in the classroom means that students don't have to leave to go to the nurse for a simple cut.
