The performing arts were practically eliminated during the 2020-2021 school year. For many students, the performing arts is the avenue used to express themselves, build self-confidence, and develop relationships. It also encourages literacy development, motivates students to attend school, and helps students learn new skills, both as onstage performers and as backstage participants. The skills they learn can be applied in many other areas of their lives, not just performing.
The supplies requested will help the Kipapa Drama Club put on the production, "Peter Pan, Jr."
Our elementary school drama club will be performing "Peter Pan, Jr." in the spring. The items requested will be used by crew members to help the production run smoothly. The wireless headsets will allow crew members to communicate during the production. The ramp will be used to roll the spot light onto an elevated platform so that the performers can be well lit during the performance. The projector mount will allow crew members to project images onto a screen during the production. Because of COVID, stage space is limited, so projections will be used as the background in place of actual set pieces. And finally, the AA batteries will be used in each student's lavalier microphone so that they can be heard while performing in the production.
