My Students

My student are from a very rural community and the school can be considered a "frontier school." Most of them have lived here their whole life. We have little funding for our physical education program. As a result, there are very few activities that our students have the opportunity to experience.

I know my students are fully capable of achieving much in the right setting and with the right tools.

I want them to realize that they are worth so much more and that there are people who want them to succeed and are willing to help them achieve their goals. I want them to understand that the world they live in can be changed. I want to be able to provide them with memorable learning experiences in class which will motivate them for life.

My Project

Sports are an amazing way to help improve mental health. Whiffle ball, flag football, and pickleball are three easy-to-learn, lifetime activities which will allow time for my students to be active and socialize with others.

These three sports will help teach my students new skills that will help them remain physically active throughout their lives, and an active life is a happy life!

In addition, these sports can help our students improve their problem-solving and social skills. The use of the Kindle Fire will provide an easy way for our class to view sport skills or games to allow for ease of learning.
